Was asked by a fren to join him from 9-ish pm and we camped all the way to 9.30am the next day. And we thought 9pm was early, mana tau another guai lou beat us to it by starting the line at 8pm. Well anyways, the stupid part was that, the next guy (4th) came at 6.30am the next morning! Yes, we went there so early for nuts.. Waiting outside the shop with our thick jackets and blankets and stool in the cold with nothing to eat.. Nearest fast food was HJ's which closes at 10.30pm. Nearest service station closes at 11pm. HOW SHIT IS PERTH!? You tell me :( Oh also, there wasn't any PUBLIC toilets around so we had to just simply pick any spot - back-alleys/drains XD

Oh wells, at least I've got what I wanted. Well, not that I'm really keen into this hyped up moon shoe, but the reselling value is massive :) For Kanye hey!

Here's some DSLR i manage to get my hands on. Might do more in the future. First of all my reviews will be quite short as i accidentally deleted my compiled reviews because i forgot to rename the .txt file so i thought it was junk and deleted. >.<"

I'll just state some stand out features and some negative points. Ask me more if there's any doubt. :)

Pentax K200D

-10 mp

-built in shake reduction

-2.7 inch screen

-weather proof body

1)Build quality is top in its group with weather proof body. This means some dust or rain won't affect you taking any pictures. But do not while the camera is weather proof some lens might not be.

2)Image quality is very very good with good noise level.

3)Mono screen for extra info.

4)Built in anti shake like the sony alpha means it works wonders with any lens, producing sharp images even when capturing by hand.

Nikon D90

-4.5fps shooting

-6400 max iso

-11 point AF

-3 inch screen

-HD video recording 720p

-very good kit lens

1)Excellent image quality. Better that EOS 450D slightly. Noise level is also better with iso sensivity of 6400 max.

2)Build quality is very solid with extra mono screen for fast viewing of modes.

3)First DSLR to have video recording(HD). Which is very useful as DSLR do not have video recording capability.

4)Quality and features is comparable to some highend dlsr.

-good kit lens

1)Built quality is good. Body is abit small though, so for people with big hands or long fingers might find this a problem.

2)Picture quality is good with many options to choose from which helps in better pic quality. 3)Noise level is acceptable for a budget DSLR.

4)Other models like Canon EOS 1000D and Sony A200 are not reviewed because their differences is not much but if picture quality is a concern then the D60 or 1000D Would be the best choice.

3)Built quality is abit cheap. Feels fragile like some sort of cheap plastic.

4) Have quite good auto focus features suitable for beginners.

5)The viewfinder seems smaller than the rest.

Canon EOS 450D

-3.5fps shooting

-9 point AF

-good IS kit lens

-Digic 3

1)Basically it produces very good pic quality, Very good in low light eg. low noise level.

2)The size is nice to hold, lightweight compared to other brands. This is important as added weight is gonna be heavy to carry.

3)Built quality is very good except no weather proofing.

4)The 9 point AF is very useful and accurate.

5)With the Digic 3 processor its also more smooth operating.

Well that's the short reviews there. In terms of features, modes and operation it's best to acually go to a shop to test those functions out. Then only you can understand its capability. Another option is to go to youtube to see video reviews of DSLR.

The purpose of this review is to give you an rough idea on which DSLR is suitable for you as different people have different needs.

In my opinion i would go for either Canon EOS 450D or Nikon D90. D90 have some features which is good to have but at a price of 1.5k more than the 450D it all comes down to how deep your pocket is.. XD

Bout the prices here it is ( based on the cheapest price i can find )

First.. Why do we need DSLR..?

DSLR is becoming a norm nowadays. So why do we need to buy DSLR? When compact point and shoot camera is so much smaller, lighter and affordable ?A simple expalanation here would be versatility and quality imaging.

Versatility do not mean just that you can change your lenses to suit your needs but other extra stuff like external flash and remote trigger.

Quality imaging is another thing. During a normal clear day, PnS and DSLR camera would have little difference in image quality because of the plentiful amount of light. But when the lights start to fade that's when DSLR outshines PnS camera. Wildlife and fast action photography also benefits from DSLR cameras.The reason is because of the large sensor in the DSLR compared to PnS camera. Shutter speed and high ISO also makes imaging quality much better.

Although DLSR can't and probably will never beat small compact camera for quick action shooting but for serious photography DSLR is no doubt the winner.

As promised :P

Arrived on the 17th at about 3.30am and the 1st thing that came into our mind? SUPPER! :D

We ventured around the city blindly looking for food. Walked along Lt Bourke St (Melb's China Town) and nothing was open. Sigh. Sien. After walking about 20-30 mins, we gave up. Lucky enough, we bumped into 1 restaurant which was still open while on our way home. One and only. Perth's china town > Melb's :P

Next morning, we went to Krispy Kreme for lunch.

Then, it was shopping time! :D

1st shop: Carhartt, Melbourne Central. Wen Yang and I walked out with a pair of kicks each, within the 1st 30 mins of shopping. While Yi Heng got himself some goods from FCUK and Lacoste.

the italian match against romania was rather exciting with both teams firing shots at opposite sides of the net.

a bad header by zambrotta gave mutu the chance to score the first goal in the second half.

in less than 10 minutes, i lazy to check, the italians are back in the game with an equalizer.

later on, penalty was given to romania but too bad mutu did not net it. he shot a hard one to the right side but it wasnt side enough for buffon, buffon chose the right side and dived to deflect the ball. (dom said mutu scared of being killed by mafia so pakat with buffon, kelip mata, telling where he going to shoot.)

overall, both sides made tons of shots. both keepers were top form.

lady luck wasnt on either side.

malouda did the worst job ever. BAM. goal.

whos the man? buffon is. buffon kept italy alive and hanging on a thread with a penalty save.

at least i did expect him to score one. although it was just a slight touch. but that's all it needs.

haih. so disappointed with germany's lost. it was a stupid loss really. the german attackers were not moving around, the defenders not doing their job, lehmann sucks, end up losing 2 goals before a 1 goal come back by podolski.

lots of yellows and a red for one of the german players at almost the end of the game. i lazy to spell his name cause damn hard. first half, the germans played like crap and plus the referee was a pain the ass for the germans. croatia scored two lame goals but they are still goals non the less.

the germans had a few possible shots but did not made it. ballack wasted one, gomez was a fucking let down if you ask me. i think he had like two or three chances which was thrown away. oh yeah. there was once when the ref denied a valid goal WTF.

hopefully the germans will bounce back but they would have to meet the Portuguese in the quater finals. buck up germany!

now for some good chelsea news. a little early (and unprofessional as teo mentioned), big phil has hop on aboard the blue ship :) in my opinion a great coach but i wonder how he will do without european club experience. still, i believe he'll bring chelsea what avram failed to. rumors said that roman has allocated a large amount of 108 million pounds for his shopping once the transfer window opens. besides that, scolari might also keep carvalho and lampard in chelsea. i wonder who is in his shopping list :) would love to see a new striker since drogba would most prolly make a move to milan.

as euro2008 continues, chelsea continues in search for a new manager to replace avram grant who was sacked around last month, i think. big names are in chelsea's wishlist of coaches.

on the other hand, as drogba's agent discuss a move to milan, chelsea have their own plans for a "new drogba". with the same look, physique and playing style, chelsea is willing to buy Bafétimbi 'Bafe' Gomis for 20 million pounds.

i seriously cannot tell the difference. haha.

this time, we had our weekly outing dinner and celebrated a fren's 20th at sizzler's :) so aussie.. order a main, and the all-u-can-eat salad bar(which costs 20aud(bloody rip-off)) is urs :P

entrée - fried potato balls(1 of..), which some1 mistakenly thought that they were "fried ice-cream" :P

my main - 500g of sizzling t-bone + mashed potato.. felt so much more aussie after i finished that slab of meat

dessert - most disgusting chocolate ice-cream ever.. :|

we were taught to make compound butters and flavoured vinegar & oil in gardemanger class. compund butters are basically butter combined with herbs and/or spices or also veges to make your dish more flavourful. we made some herb butter, chili butter, shallot & garlic butter, capsicum butter and another 1 which i cant remember the name. not forgetting basil vinegar, dried tomato oil & rosemary oil too! the fragrance thats released when u use the flavoured oil to sautee/fry/etc... awesome!
below are some chicken,fish & beef dishes that we made by using those compound butters and flavoured vinegar & oil.
